No.200 Drawing for the manufacture of plywood chairs using CNC

Drawings in dwg, dxf, pdf format for making a chair with plywood armrests.

Difficulty - medium+

Project #200. A rather simple chair made of plywood using the capabilities of a CNC machine. The main attention was paid to: ergonomics, compactness and ease of assembly.

It is assumed that the person who will make this chair has some initial experience and some carpentry tools. For example, a grinder/end mill, clamps. But this tool only makes work easier and faster. All the same can be achieved with only sandpaper (but you will have to spend a lot of time grinding the ends and faces). The necessary minimum is a drill (screwdriver) with a set of drills. It will be needed in order to make holes in the ends of the parts. However, there will be nothing difficult here if you first fold the parts slot into slot. Then you can use the existing holes as guides. If there are no clamps - the seat parts can be fixed with the help of a drill and self-tapping screws (and don't forget to add a little glue).

There are two versions of the chair in the archive: as in the video, as well as a chair with armrests. In the version with armrests, it is desirable to have taps for dowels, a drill for the dowel and the dowels themselves.

Material - 18 mm thick plywood. Milling cutter 3.172 mm. Assembly for screws and furniture nuts (barrels) and Erickson nuts (and some glue).

approximate dimensions

  • back height - 838mm
  • seat height - 430mm
  • total width - 532mm
  • total depth - 709mm
